With their joint climate adaptation plan, the Rhein-Sieg District and the City of Siegburg are laying the groundwork for a coordinated response to the impacts of climate change. The plan analyzes climate risks such as heavy rainfall and heat waves, defines strategic goals, and develops concrete recommendations for action. A distinctive feature of the project is the joint consideration of the district and the city within an integrated strategy. This allows for the targeted analysis and coordination of both overarching challenges and differing areas of responsibility and scope for action. The plan supports both administrations in implementing adaptation measures, leveraging synergies with climate protection and biodiversity, and sustainably strengthening climate resilience and quality of life.
GIS-based analyses, as well as interactive participatory processes aimed at involving relevant stakeholders, play an important role in project management.
