The Brandenburg town of Beelitz, located southwest of Potsdam, has commissioned CLIMATICON GmbH to develop a climate adaptation concept. The project focuses on building upon existing projects and initiatives, identifying nature-based and practical measures, and leveraging synergies with climate protection and biodiversity. The concept specifically addresses the needs of a rural community with its agriculture and forestry sectors vulnerable to climate change. This is particularly relevant in the drought-stricken regions of Brandenburg and the associated problems of drought and forest fires.
The development of the practical and needs-oriented adaptation concept is accompanied by an interactive participation process that ensures the active involvement of relevant experts and the local public.
CLIMATICON GmbH is responsible in particular for the following tasks:
- Development of a comprehensive strategy for municipal climate adaptation
- Development of a target group-specific communication and participation strategy
- Implementation of events, workshops and participatory formats
- Creation of a practical and implementation-oriented catalog of measures
